C-64 The Last Ninja

By Daniel Vifasa

The Last Ninja was, dare we say, epoch-making. A game at the threshold of 16-bit world, showed that an eight-bit computer that C-64 still had much to give, and that a game can unite tricky puzzles with action and detailed gameplay. Last Ninja was the graphics (yes, it really felt like it was thrown back to feudal Japan), music (aaah) and the atmospheric story. The last ninja Armakunis desolate and perilous journey to the island of Lin Fen got the whole 750 000 Europeans to buy the game.
We who fell there in the stream was terribly annoyed at having timed that perfect somersault over the brook, or that missed to crouch in the right place. But the strongest was the feeling of magic. Ninja Magic.
